Role Overview
As an Ecommerce Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing our presence on online marketplaces (such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, website D2C channel etc.). You will act as the primary point of contact for those channels, drive sales growth, manage operational efficiencies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account-level strategies for our e-commerce channels to achieve sales, margin, and market-share targets.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of marketplace accounts: product listings, catalogue management, pricing, inventory, fulfilment, returns, payments reconciliation. (For example: listing optimisation, stock-out prevention, order management.)
- Work closely with brands/marketing to plan and execute promotional campaigns (e.g., seasonal sales, flash deals, banner exposures), marketplace advertising (PPC/AMS) and content enrichments to improve conversion. Adzuna+1
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as GMV, conversion rate, ROAS (return on ad spend), stock-out rate, returns, listing health, fulfilment speed; analyse the data to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with marketplace channel partners/managers, internal stakeholders (marketing, supply chain, finance, customer service) and ensure alignment. Foundit
- Own joint business planning (JBP) with major accounts: negotiating terms, setting targets, new product launches, brand visibility, assortment expansion.
- Ensure compliance with marketplace policies, listing guidelines, account health metrics, and swiftly identify & resolve issues (such as unauthorised sellers, policy violations). Foundit
- Manage forecasting and inventory planning to avoid overstocking or stock-outs; coordinate with warehouse/logistics to ensure timely fulfilment and customer satisfaction. Adzuna+1
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management summarising marketplace performance, campaign outcomes and business insights.
Requirements / Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, E-commerce or related field; MBA preferred.
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in e-commerce account / market-place management, preferably with major marketplaces in India.
- Strong operational understanding of e-commerce marketplaces (listing, pricing, inventory, fulfilment, returns) and advertising (PPC, marketplace ads).
- Excellent analytical skills – ability to extract insights from data, build dashboards, monitor KPIs and drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to build relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
- Result-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of Excel/spreadsheets; familiarity with marketplace dashboards, analytics tools is preferred.
