Job Purpose

The role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor and internal invoices for Sage Publishing India. The position involves ensuring correct coding, resolving payment issues, maintaining financial records, and supporting smooth payment operations in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice & Payment Processing:

    Accurately prepare, verify, and submit invoices from vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring correct GL and J/L codes are used.
  • Issue Resolution:

    Investigate and resolve discrepancies or queries related to invoices and vendor payments promptly and effectively.
  • Payment Tracking & Reporting:

    Monitor payment status, maintain logs, and ensure all invoices are processed within agreed timelines.
  • Record Management:

    Maintain organized, up-to-date records of invoices, payments, and related documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Vendor & Internal Coordination:

    Handle vendor inquiries courteously and collaborate with internal departments (Procurement, Finance, etc.) to resolve payment or documentation issues.
  • Compliance & Controls:

    Ensure adherence to company financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards in all invoice processing activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate in Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 13 years of experience in invoicing, billing, or accounts payable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Proactis (or similar ERP system) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple invoices and maintain systematic records.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional communication with vendors and internal teams.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently when required.
