Seeking a Senior QA Engineer with proven expertise in testing, automating, and assuring the quality of educational platforms using JavaScript-based frameworks, primarily the Jest framework, but also Cypress or Playwright. The role involves defining, executing, and scaling test automation for learning systems, APIs, analytics, and web services, focusing only on JavaScript testing tooling (No Selenium)

The Core Responsibilities For The Job Include The Following
QA leadership and collaboration:

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to build robust, scalable automated tests using Jest and JavaScript.
  • Set and maintain quality standards for the entire software development lifecycle in a CI/CD-first culture.
  • Mentor and support teammates in following best practices for JavaScript test automation.

Test Planning And Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and suites for adaptive educational workflows, APIs, and web applications.
  • Implement automated testing strategies for data analytics, user journey validation, and cross-platform data synchronization.
  • Create and maintain performance, integration, and end-to-end tests using JavaScript and related frameworks.

Technical Skills And Automation

  • Build and maintain test automation pipelines using Jest as the primary framework; also, leverage Cypress or Playwright for E2E as needed.
  • Use JavaScript and for mocking, stubbing, and validating APIs, Azure Functions, and database interactions (Cosmos DB or similar).
  • Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar tools).
  • Apply accessibility test libraries compatible with JS (e. g., axe-core) to validate WCAG 2.1 AA adherence.

Platform-Specific Testing

  • Automate testing for adaptive content, user personalization, learning analytics, role-based permissions, and marketplace/monetization workflows.
  • Validate data integrity, security, and compliance for educational regulations (FERPA, GDPR) with API/script-based test automation.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years in software quality assurance with a strong focus on JavaScript-based test automation.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Jest (unit, integration, and automated testing), plus working knowledge of Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
  • Experience in API, performance, and security testing using JS tools.
  • Deep understanding of modern QA methodologies, processes, and Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with database validation, mocking/stubbing, and continuous testing with CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in EdTech platform testing adaptive learning, multi-user roles, analytics, marketplace, or payment integration.
  • Experience with accessibility test libraries in JavaScript and WCAG compliance.
  • Familiarity with Azure Functions/serverless backends and API automation using JavaScript.
  • ISTQB, Agile Testing certification, or relevant JavaScript testing credentials.
