Company Description

Exsecant provides copy editing of a broad range of scientific, technical and medical content covering school books, higher education books, and scholarly research papers that publish in journals and books. The copy editing process is a combination of language editing and technical editing. We provide light, medium, and substantial copy editing as per requirement. Topics vary across all disciplines, including mathematics. We have the ability to produce thorough edits on short deadlines, flexibility to adapt work based on instructions, strong attention to details and directions, working knowledge of style manuals, including APA, CMS, AMA and customized house styles.

Job Description


•Assisting delivery head and senior copy editors
•Correcting spelling mistakes and grammatical errors; 

•Sub-editing text written by a number of authors to ensure consistent house style; 

•Checking that authors have provided all the required materials and paperwork; 

•Resolving queries directly with the author, e.g. style and text inconsistencies; 

•Coding manuscripts for design features, such as hierarchy of headings, to instruct the production team; 

•Creating artwork briefs to detail the content of illustrations; 

•Ensuring that illustrations are correctly captioned and referred to in the text; 

•Producing or working to a style checklist to ensure consistency in hyphenation, capitalisation, formatting of references, etc.
