The Global Process Owner (GPO) – Strategic Procurement is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving end-to-end strategic procurement processes on a global scale. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in procurement transformation, with a strong track record in leading digital initiatives and integrating best practices from both industry and academia. A background in business school academics will be highly valued for this role, ensuring a blend of practical and theoretical excellence.

Job Description

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Process Ownership: Serve as the global owner for all strategic procurement processes, establishing and maintaining process standards, controls, and governance frameworks.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with organisational objectives, ensuring agility and compliance across regions.

  • Procurement Transformation: Lead large-scale transformation projects, including digital procurement initiatives, automation, and adoption of new technologies to drive efficiency and value creation.

  • Change Management: Drive cultural and operational change across the organisation to support the adoption of new procurement practices, technologies, and mindsets.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, suppliers, and technology partners, to optimise procurement outcomes and foster innovation.

  • Continuous Improvement: Establish and monitor KPIs, benchmark against industry standards, and implement ongoing process improvements based on data-driven insights.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure procurement processes adhere to global regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Knowledge Leadership: Leverage academic background to integrate cutting-edge procurement theories, case studies, and research into practical business solutions. Training & Development: Mentor and upskill procurement teams globally, fostering a culture of learning, excellence, and innovation.

What you'll bring to the role:Essential Requirements:
  • Master's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline; business school academic experience highly desirable.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a global process owner or transformation leadership role.

  • Proven expertise in leading procurement transformation projects, including digitalisation, automation, and process re-engineering.

  • Strong understanding of procurement technologies such as e-sourcing, e-procurement, and spend analytics platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in complex, matrixed, and multicultural environments.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.

  • Certifications such as CIPS, ISM, or PMP are advantageous.
