Job Summary
The Social Media Content Specialist will be the primary driver for all video content across Rapido's official YouTube and Instagram platforms. This role requires a highly creative and self-motivated individual who can conceptualize, shoot, and edit compelling daily video content, including user/Captain testimonials, to boost brand engagement, awareness, and recall, aligning with Rapido's fun, local, and meme-savvy brand voice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop a daily and weekly content calendar specifically for Instagram (Reels, Stories, Posts) and YouTube (Shorts, Long-form videos) that aligns with Rapido's overall marketing goals and brand strategy.
- Ideate and storyboard engaging short-form video content that incorporates trending topics, music, and platform-native formats (e.g., memes, skits, challenges).
- Ensure all content is on-brand, adheres to Rapido's messaging, and is optimized for maximum reach and engagement on each respective platform.
2. Video Production (Shooting, Testimonials & Field Work)
- Daily Video Creation: Be responsible for the end-to-end creation of daily video content, including but not limited to, conceptualizing, scripting, shooting, and editing.
- Testimonial Capture: Regularly plan and execute on-ground shoots to capture authentic testimonials from Rapido Captains (drivers) and customers, highlighting their positive experiences and the value of the service.
- Manage necessary equipment (camera, mic, lighting, etc.) for on-location and in-office shoots, ensuring high production quality.
- Conduct short interviews in local languages as required for testimonial/localised content.
3. Video Editing & Post-Production
- Perform high-quality and rapid turnaround video editing for all social media content.
- Proficiency in adding subtitles, graphics, sound effects, music (following copyright guidelines), and engaging visual elements specific to YouTube and Instagram trends.
- Create distinct content formats for Instagram Reels/Stories and YouTube Shorts/Long-form videos from the same source footage where possible.
- Manage and organize the content library, ensuring all raw and final assets are cataloged for future use.
4. Platform Management & Optimization
- Instagram Management: Post, monitor, and engage with the Rapido community on the Instagram page, responding to comments and DMs related to the content.
- YouTube Management: Upload and optimize videos for SEO, including writing compelling titles, descriptions, and tags to increase organic discoverability.
- Analyze platform performance using native analytics tools, providing daily/weekly reports on key metrics like views, engagement rate, watch time, and click-through rates.
- Stay up-to-date with algorithm changes, new features, and emerging trends on both YouTube and Instagram.
5. Collaboration
- Work closely with the wider marketing team for campaign alignment, brand guidelines, and script approvals.
- Coordinate with operations and city teams to plan and execute on-ground shoots for testimonials and local content.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: [2-4] years of experience in social media content creation, specifically managing brand-owned YouTube and Instagram accounts.
- Video Production: Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality short-form video content using professional or smartphone equipment. Experience with on-ground field shoots and capturing real-life stories/testimonials is a must.
- Editing Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or InShot, with an eye for fast-paced, social-first editing style.
- Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of Instagram and YouTube features, formats, and best practices, including Reels, Shorts, and community engagement tactics.
- Creativity: Strong sense of current internet culture, humor, and meme trends relevant to Rapido's target audience (Gen Z and millennials).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and [Local Language(s) relevant to target cities] for scripting and interviews.
- Bonus: Graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop) for basic thumbnails and story graphics are a plus.
