Assistant Manager – Project Quality Engineer (PQE)

About the Role:

As an Assistant Manager – PQE, you will play a pivotal role in driving quality excellence throughout the new product development lifecycle. You will interface directly with customers and internal teams to ensure all quality requirements are met, enabling flawless product launches and sustained customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary quality interface with customers, managing quality scorecards and portals to ensure expectations are met.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to established quality processes, templates, and industry norms across projects.
  • Analyze customer quality requirements and translate them into actionable quality objectives and training programs.
  • Approve project-specific tailoring, APQP deliverables, and actions addressing deviations to keep projects on track.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (CQE, SQE, Development) to ensure early detection and resolution of quality issues.
  • Lead failure eradication plans and participate actively in risk assessments, especially during difference analyses.
  • Guide project teams in the correct use of quality tools and methodologies (problem-solving, FMEAs, lessons learned).
  • Support creation and approval of verification & validation plans, DVP/PV reports, prototype control plans, and PPAP submissions.
  • Review and approve project documentation in Easy DMS, including risk management, test reports, and control plans.
  • Manage problem-solving activities related to customer complaints or development-stage issues.
  • Facilitate and approve project review statuses and moderate problem-solving sessions when required.

Critical to Quality (CTQ) Parameters:

  • Customer Quality Satisfaction:
    Timely and effective management of customer scorecards and issue resolution.
  • Process Compliance:
    100% adherence to approved quality processes and documentation standards.
  • Project Deliverables:
    On-time approval of APQP, PPAP, DVP/PV reports, and flawless launch control plans.
  • Risk Mitigation:
    Proactive identification and mitigation of risks through FMEA and failure eradication plans.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Effective root cause analysis and closure of quality issues within defined timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Seamless coordination with development, supplier, and quality teams ensuring no delays in project milestones.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in automotive or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other quality methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
