Job Description: Plant Operator (Shift Role)

Reports To: Shift In-Charge

Role Purpose

The Plant Operator is responsible for running and monitoring production activities in the plant, ensuring safe operations, consistent output, and adherence to quality standards during the assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day plant operations as per shift plan and SOPs.
  • Monitor process parameters and maintain smooth production flow.
  • Conduct basic in-process quality checks and immediately report abnormalities.
  • Follow all safety rules and use appropriate PPE throughout the shift.
  • Carry out first-level maintenance and maintain 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Record shift production, quality readings, and downtime in log sheets.
  • Coordinate with team members and ensure proper shift handover.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of plant/production operations.
  • Ability to monitor process conditions and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Strong safety awareness and discipline.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma
  • 2-7 years of experience as a Plant Operator or in production operations
