1.Prepares patients for scheduled procedures. Provide efficient and effective peri operative nursing care to patient.

Comply with KIMS policies and procedures, Nursing standards and the Departmental regulations

Prepare operating room with surgical equipment, sterile, linens and supplies that will be needed during surgery.

Maintain surgical services in accordance with competency standards.  Prepare patients including cleaning and disinfecting body areas for surgery.

Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.

Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and diagnostic testing of patients. Assist in fluid management.

Assist with patient care in recovery room and operating room. Screens and educate patients for appropriate information. Communicate continuously with operating team and other medical staff to meet needs for patient care.

Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls in a pleasant professional manner.

Document Records and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.

10.  Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of sterile techniques.

11.  Maintain a safe environment and identification of potential risk for all patients and visitors taking action as and when required.

12.  Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

13.  Provides health information and patient education to patients seeking health information and gives pre-operative instructions to surgical patients in collaboration with the surgeons.

14.  Observes and utilizes infection control guidelines in patient care. Observe IC standards in handling of all instruments and specimen.

15.  Orient, instructs and trains assigned personnel, accepts preceptor ship responsibilities as assigned by their superiors.

16.  Assist in ordering, storing and maintaining surgical equipment and supplies.
