- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct bedside care, including monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), performing physical examinations, and assessing patient conditions.
- Medication and Treatment Administration: Administer medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) fluids as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for any side effects or reactions.
- Care Planning and Documentation: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic and paper medical records.
- Assisting Medical Staff: Support doctors and surgeons during examinations, procedures, and rounds. Prepare patients for operations and post-operative care.
- Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, preventative care, and post-discharge instructions.
- Safety and Environment: Ensure a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment for patients, adhering to all infection control policies and safety protocols.
- Emergency Response: Provide immediate medical care in emergency or crisis situations, including performing CPR if necessary.
- Collaboration and Supervision: Work effectively within a team, coordinating care with other departments and, when senior, supervising and mentoring junior nursing staff and students.
