Job Summary

Engineering leader responsible for India team engineering activities pertaining to legacy and new products of GKN Engines business. Main purpose of this role is to make sure all engineering activities performed in India team are aligned to global product strategy and business needs. The role is responsible to develop and sustain high level of competence and capabilities required for product development. It is expected that the person in this role is able to collaborate with their global counterparts and ensure operational excellence in engineering deliverables required from India team. People being most important asset of the organization, this role is required to ensure high degree of engagement & positive culture within the team.

Job Responsibilities

Overall responsible for coordinating the GKN Aerospace India OE Engineering activities and to ensure that India team is able to fulfil the GKN Aerospace requirements regarding delivery, efficiency, utilization and competence.

  •  Actively collaborate and drive global strategic goals in India team.
  •  Drive development of methods and processes to make sure the same is aligned to overall objectives and requirements from the GKN Divisions and Core Engineering.
  • Establish efficient networks across the GKN engineering community and secure a good stakeholder management.
  • Actively work with communication and information to secure that the GAI engineering teams understand and operate according to the GKN Aerospace divisional strategies and needs.
  • Deliver utilization (i.e. financials) as per the budget and defined KPI's
  • Look after implementation of GKN global policies and initiatives.
  • Report status to the GKN Aerospace India GM and VP OE Engineering.
  • Develop a long term strategy for engineering in India with focus on key technical roles and signatories.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean Initiatives for engineering.
  • Comply with export control regulation.
  • Reporting Problems or Deviations associated with Environmental Issues and the EMS/ OHS to MR
  • Responsible for control, monitoring and administration of technical signature delegation in
  • GAI as per the described Quality Plans for the regions.
Job Qualifications

General:

  • Must possess a high level of knowledge of general management activities and experience
  • across multiple disciplines in order to successfully manage the team.
  • Must possess knowledge on main aerospace engineering processes / disciplines to enable appropriate engineering support
  • Must possess a good level of knowledge on the Aerospace industry
  • Must possess the highest level of organizational, teambuilding and motivational skills
  • The role requires the highest level of interpersonal skills – see below for details of skills and

  • High integrity and openness, ability to listen and understand needs of the GKN global  organization.
  • Experience from driving strategic planning and/or business planning.
  • Good communication skills, well-structured including being a good facilitator
  • Experience in working effectively with diverse national and organizational cultures
  • Ability to coach, mentor and inspire team and team members
  • Lean Culture

Essential:

  • More than 10 years of management experience.
  • More than 10 years' experience in Aerospace and engine systems domain.
  • Ability to clearly present data, reports and presentations to facilitate the decision making process at all levels of the business.
