Key Responsibilities
- Develop
3D models and detailed technical drawings
of plastic components. - Conduct
feasibility studies
to validate market and functional requirements. - Build
prototypes
and oversee
testing
for performance, safety, and durability. - Collaborate with
mold makers
on mold and fixture design. - Troubleshoot
mold design and production issues to ensure timely resolution. - Select the most suitable
plastic materials
considering strength, heat resistance, flexibility, and cost. - Stay abreast of
emerging advancements
in plastics, including sustainable and biodegradable options. - Perform
material testing
and run
simulations (e.g., Moldflow)
to optimize manufacturability. - Lead projects
end-to-end
, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables. - Ensure all designs and processes adhere to
industry standards and regulations
.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in
CAD (SolidWorks)
. - Strong knowledge of
plastic material properties
. - Comprehensive understanding of
plastic manufacturing techniques
. - Familiarity with
FEA, DFM, and GD&T
principles.
Qualifications
- GTTC – Product Design / Tool Design
or equivalent. - 4–5 years' experience
in product development and engineering design. - Prior experience in the
medical equipment manufacturing industry
is preferred.
