Salon Hairdresser – Job Description

Role Overview

A salon hairdresser provides professional hair styling, cutting, coloring, and grooming services to clients while ensuring a friendly, comfortable, and hygienic environment. You'll work closely with senior stylists, assistants, and front‑desk staff to deliver high‑quality results and maintain the salon's reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their desired look, hair type, and maintenance needs.

  • Perform a range of services: haircuts, trims, blow‑drying, styling, coloring, bleaching, highlights, and scalp treatments.

  • Keep workstations clean, sanitized, and organized; follow health‑safety regulations.

  • Manage appointment schedules, confirm bookings, and handle client inquiries.

  • Upsell retail products (shampoos, conditioners, styling tools) and recommend home‑care routines.

  • Stay current with trends, techniques, and product knowledge through workshops and training.

  • Maintain accurate records of services, product usage, and client preferences.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid hairdressing license or certification (as per local regulations).

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a salon setting (entry‑level candidates with strong portfolio may be considered).

  • Proficiency with cutting, coloring, and styling techniques; knowledge of hair chemistry is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
