Job Overview

VGK Builders Pvt Ltd is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of Civil Engineering Intern at our Tambaram location. This is an internship position suitable for freshers with work experience ranging from 0 to 1 years. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for civil engineering and be eager to learn and contribute to various projects. The position entails engagement with project management, quantity surveying, and construction planning.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have a fundamental understanding of civil engineering principles as this will be essential in project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required as it is vital for drafting and designing construction plans.
  • Familiarity with Revit and STAAD-Pro to assist in creating detailed 3D models and structural analysis is highly desirable.
  • Basic skills in Civil 3D software to aid in the design and drafting of civil projects, which is an integral part of the work.
  • Knowledge of project management to help in overseeing project activities and ensuring timely completion.
  • Understanding of quantity surveying techniques to assist in accurately estimating materials and costs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and ensure project efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills required for effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in planning and designing civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Engage in surveying activities and develop detailed project analysis reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create and modify project blueprints and plans.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to maintain project schedules and manage resources effectively.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety regulations to ensure a secure construction environment.
  • Contribute to discussions and meetings, providing technical inputs and suggestions whenever necessary.
  • Document project progress and prepare reports for review by senior management and clients.
  • Participate in site visits to gain insights into project implementation and construction practices.
