The RoleThe Shift Officer is responsible for supervising and managing all activities during the assigned shift to ensure seamless production, compliance with safety and quality standards, and achievement of operational targets. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring efficient use of resources. Key Responsibilities 1.
Shift Operations Management:
- Oversee all production activities during the shift to ensure targets are met.
- Monitor equipment, processes, and workforce to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Ensure proper handover between shifts with accurate documentation.
2. Team Supervision:
- Assign tasks to team members and ensure proper utilization of manpower.
- Train, guide, and supervise the workforce to maintain high productivity and compliance.
- Handle shift rosters, attendance, and leave management.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards by implementing SOPs and conducting regular checks.
- Report and address any deviations in quality or processes.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the team.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during the shift.
- Report incidents or near misses and take corrective actions promptly.
5. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve operational issues during the shift.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime caused by equipment failure.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain shift logs, production reports, and incident records.
- Communicate effectively with the next shift and management regarding shift activities and challenges.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss operational challenges and share best practicesQualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in using production software and tools.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
