Job Description:

A Mechanical Shift Incharge is responsible for supervising the mechanical operations and maintenance activities during their assigned shift, ensuring smooth and efficient production flow while adhering to safety and quality standards. They also manage personnel, troubleshoot equipment issues, and maintain records. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Management:
    Overseeing the mechanical team's activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and production schedules. 


  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    Diagnosing and resolving mechanical equipment malfunctions, coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs, and ensuring equipment reliability. 


  • Production and Quality Control:
    Monitoring production parameters, adjusting processes to maintain quality standards, and ensuring production targets are met. 


  • Safety Compliance:
    Enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety checks, and promoting a safe working environment. 


  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintaining accurate production records, shift reports, and other relevant documentation. 


  • Team Leadership:
    Guiding, mentoring, and providing training to shift personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment. 


  • Emergency Response:
    Handling emergencies, coordinating with other departments, and implementing solutions to minimize disruptions. 


  • Resource Management:
    Ensuring the availability of necessary tools, equipment, and materials for smooth operations. 



Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques. 
     
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to motivate, guide, and manage a team effectively. 
     
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Aptitude for analyzing situations, identifying root causes, and making sound decisions. 
     
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, other departments, and management. 
     
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety protocols and procedures. 
     
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a similar industrial setting, often with a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field.
