Pre-primary teachers play a crucial role in the early childhood education sector.  You will be responsible for providing a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for young children, typically between the ages of 4 to 6 years old. Pre-primary teachers facilitate the development of essential skills, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical abilities, through structured activities and play-based learning.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning: Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that cater to the developmental needs of young children. Incorporate various teaching methodologies, including play-based learning, storytelling, arts and crafts, and music and movement.

Classroom Management: Create a conducive learning environment by establishing clear routines, rules, and expectations. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and conflict resolution techniques.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate children's progress and identify areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of each child's development, including observations, assessments, and anecdotal notes.

Parent Communication:

Establish open and transparent communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns or issues that may arise. Collaborate with parents to support their child's learning and development at home.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other pre-primary teachers, support staff, and administrators to create a cohesive and integrated learning environment. Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.

Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom by following health and safety guidelines and procedures. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, including meal times, nap times, and playtime.

Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education. Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Soft Skills :
  • Graduate plus B.Ed 
  • Courses in Child Development, or a related field a plus .
  • Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and theories.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
