Job Summary

This is a full-time, on-site role for a
Fruits and Vegetables
Procurement Specialist
located in Pune. The candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders, evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, analysing market trends, and overseeing procurement processes. They will work closely with farmers, vendors and team members to ensure the timely procurement of fresh produce while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, mandis, and local vendors.
  • Ensure timely sourcing and replenishment of daily F&V requirements.
  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders accurately.
  • Ensure on-time deliveries and proper documentation for all procured items.
  • Inspect incoming produce for freshness, quality, and standards compliance and coordinate with the warehouse team for quality approvals and rejections.
  • Suggest procurement planning strategies to maintain quality at optimal cost.
  • Negotiate prices, credit terms, and supply commitments.
  • Evaluate supplier reliability, consistency, and performance metrics.
  • Work with internal teams to understand demand forecasting and stock needs.
  • Maintain minimal wastage through smart replenishment and planning.
  • Identify gaps in sourcing processes and recommend operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and procurement reports for internal review.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Food Technology, Supply Chain Management,
    or related field.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in handling
    Purchase Orders
    and managing the procurement process
  • Experience in Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation
  • Strong Analytical Skills to assess market trends and supplier performance
  • Knowledge of procurement practices specific to
    fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, on-site environment in a start-up
  • Prior experience in the food supply chain or agricultural sector is a plus
