Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements, functional documents, and user stories to understand testing scope.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and UI testing for web and mobile applications.
  • Test and validate API request-response flows, ensuring correct data, error handling, and endpoint behavior.
  • Validate backend data using SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Accurately log defects in JIRA with clear steps to reproduce (STR), screenshots, logs, and relevant attachments.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and contribute to all agile testing activities.
  • Prepare test summary reports, manage test execution timelines, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Own release readiness: test runs, sign-offs, sanity testing on staging/pre-prod, hotfix verification, and post-release monitoring.
  • Stay updated on QA tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance testing processes.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong manual testing experience across mobile, web, and API applications, with excellent exploratory testing instincts and defect isolation skills.
  • Hands-on experience in API testing
  • Proficiency in debugging tools such as Fiddler, Charles Proxy, Proxyman, and browser DevTools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong bug reporting skills, including STR, actual vs expected results, environment details, logs, and attachments, with properly versioned test assets.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Good to Have

  • Exposure to automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
  • Programming knowledge in Java / Python / JavaScript.
  • Working knowledge of TestNG and Maven for test automation structure and execution.
  • Basic understanding of version control systems like GitLab / GitHub.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build workflows.
  • Basic understanding of AI in software testing, including AI-assisted testing tools, predictive defect analysis, or test optimization using AI.
