Junior Data Analyst Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
junior data analyst
to join our team. This is an excellent entry-level position for fresh graduates or career changers with 0-1 years of experience who are passionate about data analysis and eager to build their career in the field. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge in database management, Python programming, and web scraping technologies, with a strong willingness to learn and grow. Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis

• Write and execute basic to intermediate MySQL queries for data extraction and reporting
• Learn to analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights under guidance
• Assist in creating reports and visualizations to communicate findings
• Support data quality initiatives and learn best practices for data handling

Automation & Scripting

• Develop Python scripts for data collection and basic automation tasks
• Learn to build simple data pipelines with supervision
• Contribute to optimizing existing processes and scripts
• Follow coding best practices and documentation standards

Web Scraping & Data Collection

• Implement web scraping solutions using Selenium, BeautifulSoup, and Scrapy with guidance
• Learn to handle different types of web content and structures
• Maintain scraping scripts and troubleshoot basic issues
• Understand and implement ethical scraping practices and rate limiting

API Integration

• Work with REST APIs to fetch and process data from external sources
• Learn API authentication, error handling, and data formatting
• Assist with monitoring API performance and implementing basic optimizations

Learning & Development

• Participate in training programs and skill development initiatives
• Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies
• Work closely with senior team members to build expertise
• Take ownership of smaller projects while receiving mentorship

Collaboration & Communication

• Support cross-functional teams including developers and business stakeholders
• Learn to translate basic business requirements into technical approaches
• Present findings to team members and participate in knowledge sharing sessions
• Document processes and maintain clear records of work completed

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Database Management
  : Basic to intermediate proficiency in MySQL including simple to moderate queries, joins, and basic optimization
• Programming
  : Foundational to intermediate experience with Python scripting, including basic libraries such as pandas, numpy, requests
• Web Scraping
  : Hands-on experience or strong willingness to learn:
• Selenium WebDriver for dynamic content
• BeautifulSoup for HTML parsing
• Scrapy framework basics
• API Integration
  : Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and data formats (JSON, XML)
• Data Analysis
  : Foundational knowledge of data cleaning, transformation, and basic statistical analysis

Experience & Education

• Experience
  : 0-1 years of experience in data analysis, programming, or related technical field
• Education
  : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
