Job Title: Procurement Specialist for Yelakki Bananas

Base Location: Mysuru/Chamarajanagara/Nanjanagudu with occasional travel to Tamil Nadu

Department: Procurement

Reports To: Procurement Manager

Role Overview

The Line Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the harvesting of Yelakki bananas at farm locations, ensuring that quality, efficiency, and operational standards are met. This role requires close coordination with labour vendors, banana vendors, farmers, logistics, and the operations team to maintain a smooth, reliable, and high-quality supply chain from farm to packhouse.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Supervision:

·       Be present at farms during harvesting to oversee and guide the process.

·       Ensure smooth and timely progress of all harvesting activities.

Issue Escalation:

·       Identify any problems or delays at the farm.

·       Immediately report issues to the Manager for prompt resolution.

Quality Control:

·       Supervise sorting and grading of banana looms/hands before crating.

·       Ensure produce meets company quality standards.

Weight & Records:

·       Oversee accurate weighing of crates before loading onto trucks.

·       Ensure all measurements meet transportation and customer requirements.

Compliance with SOPs:

·       Follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by management.

·       Maintain consistency and efficiency across farms.

Reporting:

·       Submit a detailed and comprehensive report after harvesting at each farm.

·       Highlight key metrics, challenges, and improvements needed.

Coordination:

·       Work closely with labour vendors, farmers, logistics providers, and operations teams.

·       Ensure seamless workflow, minimum downtime, and optimum productivity.

Candidate Requirements

·       Prior experience sourcing "Yelakki Banana", farm operations, harvesting supervision, or agri-supply chain preferred.

·       Strong leadership and team management skills.

·       Ability to maintain quality standards under tight timelines.

·       Must know Kannada and Tamil.

·       Willingness to work in farm locations, often under challenging field conditions.

·       High sense of responsibility, integrity, and accountability.
