Job Location: Nagpur

Purpose of Role/Job Summary:

The role involves Reverse Engineering and Design Engineering, with a focus on understanding customer needs and custom design requirements. As part of the Co-creation team, the position emphasizes developing tailored product solutions through engineering support, cost analysis, material selection, and choosing suitable fabrication methods. Responsibilities also include managing existing product port folio and life cycle management of product. The candidate will be based at the office furniture manufacturing plant and will work closely with the operations and sales teams to streamline processes and reduce time-to-market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop tailored product solutions to meet specific customer needs. At various stages like Enquiry/ Mock-up / Order stage.

• Perform design-for-manufacture analysis with strong knowledge in metal, wood, and plastic fabrication

• Create and manage engineering models, technical drawings, and BOM.

• Conduct cost analysis, including in-house production cost reviews and coordination with external vendor quotations.

• Manage prototype and mock-up in required design process.

• Achieve the Value engineering target.

Extended Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Co-creation sales team to turn conceptual ideas/customer idea into well-engineered production-ready solutions.

• Apply knowledge of international ergonomic and safety standards (ANSI BIFMA, BIFMA G1, IAQ, GREENGUARD) in product development.

• Create detailed engineering specifications and documentation outlining product design, criteria, and performance expectations.

• Manage engineering documentation and drawing updates following the Engineering Change request.

• Understand tooling design and manufacturing processes; produce DFM reports with expertise in wood, sheet metal, metal tubing, casting, and plastic injection fabrication.

• Work closely with internal manufacturing departments and external vendors to resolve engineering issues; interact with marketing or finance for technical inputs when needed.

• Estimate prototyping and production expenses for financial evaluation.

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills: identify issues, develop solutions, implement fixes, and assess outcomes.

• Should be capable of making 3D data CREO.

Work Experience and Skills

• 3-5 years of experience

Competencies:

• 3D modeling and assembly

• CREO

• AutoCAD

• Diploma in tool and Die making

Educational Qualification:

• BE Mechanical

Key Relationships:

• All Cross functions at factory, Sales and CAD teams

• Strong leadership abilities - Ability to lead the project Indirect leadership
