About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on
R&D Thermal Engineer
to support our
thermal research and lab-based development activities
at our Hyderabad facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in
thermal systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics
, and experimental validation, with experience working in
R&D lab environments
.

You will be responsible for conducting experiments, managing thermal test setups, and supporting the development of thermal management solutions across applications in
aerospace, defense, energy, and electronics
.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, set up, and execute
    thermal experiments and performance tests
    on components, systems, and materials.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data for
    thermal conductivity, heat flux, thermal resistance
    , and system efficiency.
  • Develop and validate
    thermal models
    using simulation tools like
    ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics, or Thermal Desktop
    .
  • Support the
    design, development, and optimization
    of thermal control and cooling systems (conduction, convection, radiation, phase change).
  • Manage and maintain
    thermal test rigs
    , instrumentation (thermocouples, IR cameras, DAQs), and lab infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including
    materials, mechanical, and electronics engineers
    on integrated R&D efforts.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and documentation of all lab activities and test procedures.
  • Contribute to technical reports, data sheets, and knowledge sharing within the R&D team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in
    mechanical engineering, Thermal Engineering
    , or a related field.
  • Minimum
    5 years of experience
    in
    thermal system design and lab-based testing
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    heat transfer fundamentals, fluid mechanics
    , and
    thermal material properties
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    thermal test equipment
    and experimental methods.
  • Proficiency in thermal simulation tools (
    ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB
    , or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with
    data acquisition systems (DAQs)
    and thermal measurement tools.
  • Good technical documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in
    aerospace, defense, automotive, or electronics cooling systems
    .
  • Knowledge of
    thermal interface materials (TIMs)
    ,
    phase change materials (PCMs)
    , or
    heat exchangers
    .
  • Exposure to
    vacuum chambers
    ,
    environmental test systems
    , or
    thermal cycling tests
    .
  • Familiarity with
    instrument calibration
    and
    lab safety standards
