As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you will lead multiple teams and oversee daily implementation activities. Your responsibilities include identifying and escalating issues, ensuring your team's work aligns with compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
  • Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Strong concepts and hands-on coding skills in Java, Spring Boot, and React, with high proficiency in design patterns and detailed design knowledge to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that meet complex business requirements.

  • Extensive full stack development expertise, capable of seamlessly integrating front-end and back-end technologies to deliver comprehensive solutions. This includes proficiency in modern frameworks, libraries, and tools that enhance user experience and system performance.

  • Strong knowledge of AWS or any other cloud platform, ensuring efficient cloud resource management.

  • Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability

  • Proficient in coding with one or more languages, including Java

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working at code level
  •  In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
