QA Lead/Validation Lead

Job Description : Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Team Management :

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Define and prioritize tasks for the QA team, ensuring efficient test planning and execution.

Test Strategy and Planning :

• Develop comprehensive QA and validation strategies for both hardware and software products.
• Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Identify key testing areas, risks, and requirements in collaboration with product managers and developers.3.

Test Execution and Monitoring :

• Lead the execution of test plans and manage test cycles, ensuring proper coverage of product features.
• Perform and/or oversee functional, performance, and stress testing to validate product quality.
• Ensure timely identification and reporting of defects, track issues, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
• Ensure proper test documentation and traceability to product requirements.4.

Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization :

• Implement best practices for QA processes, focusing on test automation, regression testing, and risk-based testing approaches.
• Analyze test results, identify patterns, and suggest process improvements for product quality and testing efficiency.
• Drive the adoption of new testing tools, techniques, and automation frameworks.5.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
• Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, defects, and risks to senior management and stakeholders.
• Support product releases by ensuring all quality standards and validation requirements are met.6.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Ensure proper test documentation, including test plans, cases, results, and defect reports.
• Maintain and report metrics on test progress, quality levels, and resource usage.
• Prepare and present final validation reports, highlighting product quality, test coverage, and any open issues.

Skills and Qualifications : Essential : Experience : Minimum 5+ years in QA/validation roles with at least 2+ years in a leadership position. Test Management : Proven experience in leading and managing QA teams and defining testing strategies for complex systems. Testing Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of test methodologies, testing life cycles, and tools for manual and automated testing.

Test Automation : Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.). Defect Management : Experience with defect tracking and management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla). Strong Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze requirements, design effective test cases, and manage complex testing scenarios.

Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate testing progress and issues to non-technical stakeholders. Programming : Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Python, Java, or Shell scripting for automation. Desirable : Industry Experience : Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., embedded systems, software development, hardware-software integration).

Agile Methodology : Familiarity with Agile development and testing practices. Tools Expertise : Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, test management tools, and version control systems (e.g., Git). )
