We're looking for Enumerator (Field Data Collector) to join our team.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Enumerator will be responsible for accurate, ethical, and timely data collection following the methodology, tools, and guidance provided by the organization. The role involves field visits, conducting interviews, completing questionnaires, and ensuring high-quality data submission following the ChildFund guidelines.

Key Duties:

The Enumerator will:

    • Participate in training on data collection tools, ethics, safeguarding, and digital data entry.
    • Conduct household, school, and community interviews using paper-based or digital questionnaires (Kobo/ODK).
    • Ensure informed consent and assent procedures are strictly followed.
    • Conduct observations or participatory methods if required (FGD, KIIs).
    • Ensure high-quality, accurate, and complete data is collected and submitted daily.
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold child safeguarding and protection principles.
    • Report challenges, security concerns, and field updates to the field supervisor.
    • Follow fieldwork schedules and instructions to ensure timely delivery of outputs

Deliverables

  • Completed and validated questionnaires submitted daily.
  • Final dataset for assigned households/schools/participants.
  • Brief daily fieldwork report to the supervisor.
  • Participation in debriefing sessions following data collection

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree health, agriculture, or related fields.
  • Previous experience as an enumerator, survey/data collector, or community mobilizer (preferred).
  • Ability to use digital data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, mobile apps).
  • Strong communication skills in Tetum and/or local languages; basic English is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and work flexible hours.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and safeguarding.
