Overview

A Flight Physics Engineer is responsible for analyzing, predicting, and optimizing the performance, loads, aerodynamics, and handling qualities of aircraft across the design, development, and certification lifecycle. The role involves collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams (structures, systems, design, stress, flight test, etc.) to ensure that the aircraft meets safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. 



Responsibilities

Perform aerodynamic, performance, and loads analyses for various aircraft configurations and flight conditions.Support design optimization by providing aerodynamic and loads input to structural and systems teams.Conduct flight dynamics simulations to assess stability, control, and handling qualities.Support flight test campaigns: correlate analysis with flight test data and refine predictive models.Collaborate with design, stress, and manufacturing teams to ensure aerodynamic integrity and compliance.

B.Tech / M.Tech



Essential skills

Experience on Verification and Validation of Control lawsKnowledge on Flight Mechanics, Exposure to Flight physics, Landing Gear Loads, Dynamic Loads, Static LoadsFamiliarity with flight mechanics and control law validation.Understanding of loads generation, gust/turbulence analysis and stability & control theory.Strong foundation aerodynamicsFamiliarity with aircraft mission analysis and flight envelopes.Knowledge of aircraft certification processes (EASA, FAA).

Experience

Knowledge of aeroelasticity, flutter analysis, or loads model development.Experience with aero-performance optimization using AI/ML or design of experiments (DoE).Experience with data correlation.
