Job Title: Accountant, International Accounting (End-to-End Accounting Operations)

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Accountant (International Accounting) to manage and execute the entire accounting lifecycle across our global operations. This position is best suited for professionals with a strong background in core accounting principles, multi-entity bookkeeping, international compliance, and cross-functional coordination, who can handle end-to-end accounting from transaction entry to month-end/year-end close, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in multi-currency accounting, accounts payable/receivable, intercompany transactions, and international statutory compliance. This is a high-impact role that demands precision, autonomy, process discipline, and collaboration across functions, regions, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Accounting Operations

• Perform and oversee day-to-day accounting functions across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and fixed assets for international entities.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reclassifications, account reconciliations, depreciation, amortization, and prepayment schedules.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations in a multi-entity structure, ensuring elimination of intercompany balances for consolidation purposes.
• Ensure accurate and timely posting of accounting entries as per GAAP/IFRS and company policies.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Supervise and review AP/AR workflows, including invoice verification, coding, approvals, and payment processing across multiple geographies and currencies.
• Ensure compliance with payment terms, vendor agreements, tax withholding obligations, and internal controls.
• Review aged payables and receivables reports and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure cash flow optimization and accurate cut-off.

Banking, Treasury, and Cash Reconciliations

• Manage and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash accounts for multiple entities, ensuring alignment with cash flow forecasts.
• Coordinate with treasury or banking teams on international wire transfers, foreign exchange settlements, and cash optimization strategies.

Multi-Currency & International Financial Reporting

• Support foreign currency accounting and translation processes, including FX gain/loss calculations and currency revaluations at month-end.
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements across international subsidiaries in compliance with local GAAP and parent company standards.

Fixed Assets and Depreciation

• Maintain fixed asset registers, track asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers, and run monthly depreciation schedules.
• Ensure capitalization policies and asset tagging practices are consistently applied and documented.

Compliance, Taxation, and Regulatory Reporting

• Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure local statutory filings, including VAT/GST, withholding tax, and corporate income tax obligations, are met.
• Support the implementation of internal controls, ensuring all accounting activities align with company financial policies and global standards.

Audit Readiness and Internal Controls

• Prepare, organize, and maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external audits, including PBC (Prepared-By-Client) lists.
• Support quarterly and annual financial audits, including the provision of reconciliations, documentation, and clarification of financial transactions.
• Identify and implement best practices for strengthening internal controls, risk management, and accounting process documentation (SOPs).

ERP & Systems Ownership

• Leverage ERP platforms such as SAP, NetSuite, Coupa, Oracle, or MineralTree to streamline accounting workflows.
• Lead or support finance system improvement initiatives, including automation, configuration of new accounting modules, and user training.
• Assist with system integration for new subsidiaries or acquired entities into existing accounting platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Optimization

• Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Legal, HR, and Tax teams to streamline accounting handoffs and improve compliance and accuracy.
• Analyze financial operations and recommend improvements in efficiency, controls, cost reductions, and system enhancements.
• Participate in special projects including new entity onboarding, M&A financial due diligence, ERP upgrades, and SOP documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• CA, CPA, ACCA, or MBA in Finance preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance is required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1-7 years of experience in end-to-end accounting operations, preferably in a multi-entity international setup.
• Experience in closing books independently, handling multi-currency transactions, and reconciling complex balance sheets.

Technical Proficiency

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling, dashboards).
• Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, NetSuite, Coupa, MineralTree, QuickBooks, or similar.
• Exposure to financial reporting tools and automation platforms is preferred.

Accounting & Regulatory Knowledge

• Strong command of GAAP and IFRS standards, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and expense classification.
• Working knowledge of cross-border taxation, withholding obligations, and global compliance norms (e.g., SOC 1, SOX, EU VAT, US 1099/W-8BEN).
