Operations Head - Aluminum Gravity Die Casting (Hands-on)

We're a fast-growing startup looking for a
Head of Operations
to lead our new
aluminum gravity die casting unit
. This is not a typical corporate role; we need a hands-on leader who can
roll up their sleeves
and get into the details of our operations while building our team from the ground up. Your primary mission will be to
rapidly achieve break-even
and then
drive sustainable profitability
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and actively participate
    in all aspects of the aluminum gravity die casting process
  • Develop and implement
    production plans and schedules to meet our aggressive growth targets and secure a steady revenue stream
  • Mentor and train
    a small, efficient team, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence
  • Oversee quality control
    , ensuring every part meets our high standards
  • Manage daily operations
    , including die maintenance, metal handling, and process optimization

Operational Excellence & Quality

  • You will have direct responsibility for
    reducing production rejections
    and implementing robust quality control measures
  • Your core goal will be to
    bring down the rejection ratio to below 5%
    within the first six months, significantly improving our overall profitability and efficiency
  • This includes identifying the root cause of defects, optimizing process parameters, and training the team on best practices to ensure first-time-right production

Business Development & Incentives

  • You will be a key player in
    securing new business
    for the unit
  • This role comes with a significant incentive program
  • You will receive a
    percentage of the net profit
    generated from the orders you help secure and manage

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years)
    in a
    hands-on, leadership role
    within an
    aluminum gravity die casting or similar foundry environment
    is a
    must-have
  • Deep technical expertise
    in aluminum metallurgy, die design, and casting processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
    and the ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues on the fly
  • Experience in a startup or similar fast-paced environment
    is a plus
  • Direct experience dealing with European and American customers
    is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree
    in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering is preferred, but a strong track record of hands-on experience is most important

Language & Location

  • Proficiency in Tamil and Hindi
    is a big plus to ensure effective communication with our diverse team and clients across India
  • While not mandatory,
    candidates from Tamil Nadu or specifically Coimbatore
    are highly encouraged to apply
