We are looking for a passionate and hands-on HR Executive to build a thriving, high-performance culture within our retail teams.

Job Summary:

The HR Executive for Retail Operations is a critical link between our corporate HR strategy and our on-the-ground store teams. You will be the primary HR point of contact for all retail store employees, responsible for ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high employee morale across all locations. This role requires frequent travel to various stores to provide direct support, training, and oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Operations & Compliance:

  2. Act as the champion for all company policies and procedures, ensuring they are consistently understood and followed in every store.

  3. Conduct daily and weekly audits of store compliance related to staff attendance, dress code, customer interaction protocols, and operational reporting.
  4. Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle for retail staff, from onboarding and induction to exit formalities.
  5. Ensure all statutory compliance requirements (ESI, EPF, etc.) are met for every retail employee.

  6. Recruitment & Onboarding:

  7. Manage the full recruitment cycle for all store-level positions, including cashiers, stock assistants, and store supervisors.

  8. Source candidates through various channels, conduct initial screenings, and coordinate final interviews with store managers.
  9. Develop and execute a structured onboarding and induction program for all new hires to ensure they are well-integrated and productive from day one.

  10. Training & Development:

  11. Identify training needs and coordinate with the HR Manager to develop targeted training modules.

  12. Deliver hands-on training at the store level on topics such as customer service excellence, product knowledge, professional etiquette, and workplace safety.
  13. Conduct regular morning briefings and huddles to reinforce key messages, share updates, and motivate the team.

  14. Performance Management & Employee Relations:

  15. Drive a culture of continuous feedback and performance improvement.

  16. Assist store managers in conducting performance reviews and setting clear goals for their teams.
  17. Serve as the first point of contact for all employee grievances and concerns, ensuring they are addressed promptly and fairly.
  18. Mediate conflicts and conduct preliminary investigations for any disciplinary issues, maintaining detailed records.

  19. Payroll & Attendance Management:

  20. Ensure accurate daily reporting of attendance, leave, and overtime from all stores.

  21. Gather, verify, and process all necessary data for monthly payroll processing for retail staff.
  22. Address and resolve any payroll-related queries from employees in a timely manner.

  23. Employee Engagement, Rewards & Recognition:

  24. Develop and implement creative employee engagement initiatives tailored for a retail environment (e.g., "Employee of the Month," sales competitions, team-building activities).

  25. Manage the rewards and recognition program, ensuring that top performers and positive behaviors are consistently acknowledged and celebrated.
  26. Promote a positive and energetic work environment that reduces turnover and builds team loyalty.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-location retail, hospitality, or FMCG environment.
  • Hands-on experience with recruitment, payroll processing, and statutory compliance is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong training and presentation abilities.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and familiar with HRMS software.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various store locations within the city is mandatory.
  • Fluency in Malayalam and English is required.
