Job Summary
The Senior Service Engineer – Commissioning is responsible for the testing, installation, and commissioning of Integrated Platform Management Systems (IPMS) and Alarm & Monitoring Systems at shipyards and customer sites worldwide. The role includes conducting Harbour and Sea Acceptance Tests, troubleshooting system issues, coordinating with engineering teams, ensuring timely project delivery, and providing hands-on training to customers when required.

  • Location: Navi Mumbai (with extensive domestic and international travel)

Job Purpose
To execute commissioning activities for IPMS and associated systems, ensuring seamless handover to customers while maintaining quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute commissioning and final handover of IPMS at project sites as per defined timelines.
  • Ensure delivery within scope, quality standards, and approved site expenses.
  • Provide installation support and troubleshoot IPMS hardware and control systems.
  • Facilitate and perform Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT) and Sea Trials by following documented procedures.
  • Manage engineering changes and modifications at site.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Operations, Engineering, HSE) and external stakeholders (customers, third-party suppliers).
  • Track site issues, prepare reports, and update project management.
  • Generate "Lessons Learnt" documentation and support continuous process improvements.
  • Support development of customer documentation when required.
  • Provide basic operational/maintenance training to customers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in control and automation industries.

Essential Skills & Expertise

  • Onsite commissioning experience
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems
  • Exposure to marine domain systems and environments
  • Understanding of analogue/digital control systems and I/O hardware
  • Experience interfacing with third-party equipment via serial communication
  • Knowledge of sensors and sensor technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings
  • Strong computer literacy and understanding of Ethernet networks
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work on marine vessels or shipyards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills
