Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing scrum team delivering scalable and reliable messaging systems.
  • Own the complete product development lifecycle — from design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to align technical delivery with organizational goals.
  • Define and monitor key engineering metrics for performance, scalability, and code quality.
  • Champion best practices in Agile methodologies, TDD, CI/CD, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Contribute to solution and subsystem architecture ensuring modularity, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to uphold engineering quality standards.
  • Manage team performance, career growth, and hiring to build a motivated, high-caliber engineering organization.
  • Drive operational excellence and ensure timely, high-quality delivery within budget constraints.
  • Lead POCs, benchmarking, and technical evaluations to support innovation and system optimization.
  • Take ownership of production issues and lead swift, effective resolutions.
  • Enforce rigorous adherence to engineering processes including version control, release management, and QA.
  • Drive strategic initiatives such as automation, productivity enhancement, and process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Framework for designing and delivering scalable systems.
  • Deep understanding of message-oriented middleware and PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Solid grasp of internet protocols (application to physical layer), REST API design, and socket-level programming (TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with functional programming and Erlang (a plus).
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies, TDD, CI/CD pipelines, QA lifecycle, JIRA, and GitHub.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, drive technical excellence, and deliver complex software projects on time.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with single-page applications (SPA) and virtual machine architecture.
  • Exposure to modern monitoring and automation tools.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance system scalability and performance.
