Job Title: Technician / Rigger

Location: UP West Region

Department: Telecom Operations & Maintenance

Experience Required: 15 years (Telecom Installation & Maintenance)

Job Purpose

To install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and networks (BTS, Core, and other related hardware). Ensure proactive measures are taken to avoid outages and maintain high-quality performance standards in the UP West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment and networks including BTS, Core, and associated hardware.
• Ensure proactive measures on-site to avoid outages and service disruptions.
• Perform self-assessment of completed activities/tasks for quality assurance.
• Identify and repair faults in telecom equipment and networks using specialized tools and equipment.
• Conduct testing of telecom equipment and networks to ensure adherence to quality and performance standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, and share reports with management/customers.
• Ensure daily activity closure and provide timely updates to the circle/activity coordinator.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior technicians and riggers.
• Ensure proper utilization of tools, safety gear, and PPEs at all times.
• Report deviations from standard practices to the project engineer/coordinator.
• Achieve daily targets of assigned tasks effectively and within timelines.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of telecom equipment (BTS, Core, RF, MW, and related hardware).
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair faults efficiently.
• Familiarity with telecom testing tools and procedures.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily targets.
• Team player with leadership skills for mentoring others.
• Safety-conscious with strict adherence to PPE usage.

Qualification & Requirements

• ITI/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom or relevant field.
• 1–5 years of experience in telecom field activities (installation, testing, and maintenance).
• Knowledge of telecom O&M procedures.
• Willingness to travel across UP West region.
• Physically fit for field and tower-related activities.
