As a Development manager, you will identify, hire and build a world-class team of Development Engineers to define, drive and execute on this vision. You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers and SDEs across the company on this high impact initiative. You will design, build and own features that impact all aspects of the Seller Experience and fulfillment.

Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant bottom line impact.

• Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for the seller community on marketplace that helps them succeed in their business goals.

• Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

• Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

• Project management - prioritization , planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.

• Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services.

• Career management and development of direct reports.

About the team
The Seller Partner Services Tech organization within Amazon India is responsible for building delightful Seller Experiences (SX) to ensure the largest seller selection at optimal points in FC locations, appropriate fee structure, and competitive pricing and promotions. By making its sellers successful, Amazon attracts and retains them on the platform, which in turn offers its customers the best selection, convenience, pricing and experience resulting in multi-billion-dollar GMS. This organization builds products and technical solutions for sellers of all stripes across a multitude of business lines such as Q-Commerce, Pharmacy or cross-border selling.

As a Software Development Manager in this role, you will have an opportunity to work and influence across entire Amazon retail stack including finance, accounting, taxes, inventory and fulfillment involving 70+ systems/ services within Amazon. You will work to provide secure, scalable and performant hands-of-the-wheel solutions/ tools that enable sellers to operate at scale and deliver top-graded customer inputs on the marketplace.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
