Role Overview

We are looking for a
Sourcing Manager / Sourcing Associate (India / China & South Asia)
to identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers across
India, China, and South Asian countries
for home and home improvement products. This role is critical to building a reliable multi-country supplier base, ensuring cost competitiveness, consistent quality, and supply-chain resilience as Sameta scales its product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities1. Supplier Identification & Development

• Identify and shortlist manufacturers across
  India, China, and South Asia (Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, etc.)
  for home & home improvement categories (kitchenware, storage, utility, hardware, stainless steel products, etc.).
• Conduct supplier due diligence: factory capability, certifications, capacity, compliance, and financial stability.
• Build a
  multi-country sourcing strategy
  to reduce dependency risk and improve cost flexibility.

• Develop long-term supplier partnerships aligned with Sameta's growth plans.

• Costing & Commercial Negotiation

• Prepare detailed
  cost sheets
  (BOM-level understanding preferred).

• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, tooling costs, payment terms, and lead times.

• Continuously drive cost reduction without compromising quality.

• Sampling & Product Development

• Coordinate product samples, revisions, and approvals.

• Work closely with internal teams on design inputs, material specifications, and packaging requirements.

• Ensure samples meet functional, aesthetic, and durability standards.

• Quality & Compliance Management

• Define quality benchmarks and inspection criteria.

• Coordinate pre-production, in-line, and pre-shipment inspections.

• Ensure compliance with target market requirements (India / export markets as applicable).

• Production & Order Management

• Place and track purchase orders.

• Monitor production timelines and proactively address delays or risks.

• Coordinate with logistics teams for shipment readiness and documentation.

• Market & Supplier Intelligence

• Stay updated on India / China & South Asia sourcing trends, raw material movements, and new manufacturing clusters.

• Track competitor sourcing practices and emerging product opportunities.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of
  India / China & South Asia sourcing ecosystem
  .
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to read and analyse cost structures.
• Quality-conscious with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Comfortable working across time zones and cultures.

QualificationsFor Sourcing Associate

• 1–4 years of experience in sourcing or procurement (India / China & South Asia exposure preferred).
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to travel to factories.

For Sourcing Manager

• 5–10+ years of sourcing/procurement experience, preferably in home, hardware, or consumer products.
• Proven track record of managing multiple suppliers and categories.
• Experience setting up supplier ecosystems from scratch is a strong plus.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to sourcing across
  multiple Asian countries
  .
• Mandarin or regional language capability.
• Experience sourcing for Amazon / D2C / retail brands.
• Background in metal, stainless steel, or utility products.

Location

• India / China / South Asia (flexible), with regular supplier travel.

• Established repeatable sourcing, quality, and inspection processes across regions.
