Maintenance Supervisor: Plastic Moulding

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and oversee all maintenance activities within a plastic injection molding/manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum machine uptime, safe operations, and optimal performance of molding machines, utilities, auxiliaries, and plant equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and direct maintenance technicians across all shifts.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance for injection molding machines, molds, robots, chillers, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate mold changes, mold maintenance, and tool room activities in collaboration with Production.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability of required consumables.
- Implement and improve maintenance systems and documentation (PM checklists, equipment history, downtime logs, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and machinery safety practices.
- Work with OEMs and vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and technical support.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for cycle time, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Monitor key KPIs such as downtime %, MTTR, and PM schedule compliance.
- Participate in annual budgeting for maintenance expenditures and capital projects.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in plastic injection molding or related manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Injection molding machines (e.g., Haitian, Engel, Nissei, Arburg, Husky, etc.)
- Hydraulic & servo systems
- Mold and hot runner systems
- Utilities (compressors, chillers, cooling towers, dryers, material handling)
- PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Allen-Bradley — preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Leadership and team development capability
- Good communication and cross-department coordination
- Computer skills (CMMS preferred)
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and production reliability
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20, ₹30,000.00 per month
