Freelance Senior Power BI Developer

Flexing It has partnered with our client, a global leader in Energy Management and Automation, who is seeking an Independent Senior BI Developer who will work on global Business Intelligence initiatives involving OAC RPD design, data warehousing, data modelling, and dashboard/report development. The role requires close collaboration with global cross-functional teams and internal business partners to enhance, support, and optimise business systems.

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

1. Delivery of enhancement requests and other operational activities of the project

2. Up to date communication to stakeholders using JIRA as medium.

3. Participate in Replenishment calls with stakeholders to clarify blockers and agree on deliveries

4. Train and mentor team members and management to understand technologies and assist with

development of OAC/OAC

1. Tracking and following up the action items

2. Ensure all requests are addressed in a timely manner with optimal solution

3. Simplify – use every opportunity to simplify to the maximum extent possible and go the extra

mile in doing so

Skills Required

Qualifications & Certifications

1. Engineering Graduate or Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

2. Certified in one or more of the following is an advantage – OAC, OAC

Experience

1. 5-8 years of BI experience

2. 5+ years of experience on Informatica, OBI, OAC & SQL (minimum 2-year experience on each of the tools mentioned)

3. Must have worked on at least 2 complete life cycle implementations of BI projects

Required Skills (Must have) along with necessary industry experience

1. Experience in any service industry where Oracle BI is extensively used for their global customers with a strong customer-centric focus.
2. Total experience of 7–10 years, with excellent communication, coordination, and team leadership skills
3. Prior experience in handling E2E Product Operations Lifecycle (Ex: ETL/Report, Incident
4. management/Bug-Fix) and E2E Product Engineering lifecycle (ex: Enhancements and Projects with release life cycle experience)
5. Ability to evaluate technology solution options for business requirements
6. Should be able to identify opportunities for automation and implement the same to bring in
7. efficiencies
8. Ability to manage complex stakeholders in a dynamic, matrix organisation

Functional:

1. Preferably, HCM domain and process knowledge or prior experience of any data warehouse/ERP implementation.

2. Ability to gather requirements and convert business requirements to technical requirements

3. Providing effort estimations to complex BI projects

4. Engage with cross teams to analyse data sources required to integrate for a new analytical

solution

1. Maintain and enhance operating rhythm

2. Experience in managing challenging stakeholders

3. Ability to validate change requests

Technical:

1. Should have worked extensively in OAC RPD development, involving time series calculations, YTD measures and configuring security
2. Experience on creating projects using Oracle Analytics Cloud, depicting visualisations to help understand the data trends and analytics for business users
3. Worked to build complex reports in OAC in a performant way and has a good understanding of role security aspects.
4. Data modelling expertise using STAR and SNOWFLAKE schema design.
5. Should have worked extensively in OAC RPD development, involving time series calculations, YTD measures and configuring security
6. Strong experience in design, development and testing of Informatica-based applications (PowerCenter 10.2)
7. Transformations like Lookup, sorter, Expression, router, update strategy, and filter.
8. Experience in Extraction, Transformation, Loading (ETL) data from various sources into Data Warehouses and Data Marts using Informatica Power Centre (Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor).
9. Hands-on experience in tuning mappings, identifying, and resolving performance bottlenecks at various levels, like sources, targets, mappings, and sessions.
10. Expert in using mapping Parameters, Mapping Variables, testing and fixing the issues in Mapping.
11. Understand complex transformations such as mapplet, worklet, normalizer and custom transformations.
12. Experience in Extract/Load/Transform (ETL)workflows (Informatica PowerCenter)
13. Knowledge on Informatica Cloud services is an advantage. Should have Strong knowledge of Oracle database, PL/SQL development, UNIX scripting.
14. Experience on creating projects using Oracle Analytics Cloud, depicting visualisations to help understand the data trends and analytics for business users
15. Worked to build complex reports in OAC in a performant way and has a good understanding of role security aspects.
16. Should have Strong knowledge of Oracle database & PL/SQL development. Must know how to write advanced SQL, use Oracle's SQL aggregate and analytic functions
17. Expert in debugging, optimising, and Performance Tuning of OAC visualisations, Oracle BI Repository & Dashboards / Reports
18. Recognise and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
19. Understand and design data models to set up robust datawarehouse environment
20. Hands-on experience in tuning mappings, identifying, and resolving performance bottlenecks at various levels, such as sources, targets, mappings, and sessions
21. Monitor and tune the performance of the OAC environment
