Role Summary
The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth within assigned territory or client segments, developing and maintaining customer relationships, understanding customer needs (technical & commercial), and acting as a bridge between clients and internal teams (technical, logistics, supply chain) to ensure customer satisfaction and order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential customers (OEMs, moulders, polymer users, etc.), distributors, and prospects in the polymer / elastomer / plastics additive sectors.
- Generate leads via cold calling, networking, referrals, trade shows, industry events.
- Conduct client visits, product presentations, and demonstrations where required — explain technical properties, application benefits, and pricing.
- Understand customers' technical requirements: material properties, processing (e.g. injection moulding, extrusion), performance criteria.
- Provide quotes, negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules in alignment with company policies.
- Follow up on sales orders: ensure coordination with inventory, logistics, production/supplier side to deliver on time.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, annual sales targets / KPIs.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity: customer database, sales reports, forecasts, pipelines.
- Share market / competitor intelligence: prices, new products, trends, customer feedback.
- Work closely with technical support / application engineering teams to resolve post-sales issues / complaints.
- Ensure after-sales service / customer follow-up to retain business and build long-term partnerships.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Plastics Engineering, Business / Commerce or equivalent).
- Prior experience (1-3 years or more) in B2B sales, especially in polymers, additives, plastics raw materials, or related industrial chemicals.
- Good technical knowledge of polymers / thermoplastic elastomers, and processing methods (e.g. injection moulding, extrusion) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to articulate technical and commercial terms clearly.
- Negotiation skills, customer‐centric approach.
- Ability to travel within assigned territory / to customer locations.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented; ability to work independently as well as in coordination with internal teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CRM tools is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales revenue achieved vs target.
- Number of new customers / orders won.
- Customer retention / repeat orders.
- Order fulfilment rate (on time delivery, minimal complaints).
- Contribution margin or profitability (if applicable).
- Timeliness and accuracy of sales reporting / forecasting.
