Job Overview
The Labor and Delivery Nurse role at Spandana Hospital is a full-time, mid-level position based in Bangalore. We are seeking candidates with 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience to provide supreme care to our mothers-to-be and their newborns. Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in intrapartum care to effectively manage the process of labor and delivery.
- Solid understanding of perinatal nursing to ensure optimal health of both mother and child during the perinatal period.
- Strong skills in patient-centered maternity care to focus on individualized care needs and preferences.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to handle emergency situations effectively.
- Proficiency in clinical decision-making to evaluate patient conditions and provide necessary care.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Mandatory skill) experience to assess and monitor the well-being of the fetus during labor.
- Competency in neonatal resuscitation (Mandatory skill) to provide immediate care at birth if required.
- Ability to use labor and delivery equipment proficiently (Mandatory skill) to ensure smooth operations during the birthing process.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and support patients throughout the labor and delivery process to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
- Administer medications and manage pain relief options as per patient preference and doctor's prescription.
- Perform regular assessments of mother and newborn to identify any concerns requiring immediate attention.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all healthcare activities performed during labor and delivery.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families to alleviate anxiety and provide comfort.
- Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care delivery.
- Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and maternal self-care to ensure smooth transition post-discharge.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and hygiene standards to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
