Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Dreamspan Full time

About Dreamspan

Dreamspan is building the next generation of sleep optimization systems.

Founded by operators with prior experience at Ultrahuman, Zomato and backed by leading investors such as Nithin Kamath (Rainmatter by Zerodha), Better Capital, iSEED (US) and more.

Our product combines
electromechanical systems, electronics, sensors, firmware, and software

, and is designed to run reliably every single night.

We are a small, founder-led team where engineers own problems end-to-end. Your work will directly impact product quality, production readiness, and customer experience.

If you enjoy building from first principles, breaking systems to understand them, and taking ownership rather than following checklists, you'll feel at home here.

Role Overview

We are looking for a
Reliability Test Engineer

to own
system-level reliability, validation planning, stress testing, and failure analysis

across our hardware products.

This role is critical as we move from development into production. You will design aggressive test plans, push the system to its limits, work closely with validation engineers and vendors, and drive root-cause analysis across
mechatronics, electronics, and firmware

.

1. Reliability & Validation Planning

    system-level and sub-system test plans
  • Design
    accelerated stress tests

to apply high load and usage in short durations
- Ensure the
entire machine is stressed as a complete system

, not just isolated components
- Define test coverage, acceptance criteria, and reliability metrics

2. Failure Analysis & Root Cause Ownership

  • Own
    root cause analysis (RCA) for

field-level failures
- Drive cross-functional debugging across:Mechanical, Electronics & Firmware
- Document failures, identify corrective actions, and ensure closure
- Act as the single owner for reliability-related issues until resolution

3. Vendor Validation & Test Reports

  • Define validation expectations for vendors
  • Request, review, and evaluate
    test reports from all vendors
  • Identify gaps in vendor testing and recommend additional validation where required
  • Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve reliability outcomes

4. Production & Quality Responsibilities

  • Build a
deep, end-to-end understanding of the entire system
  • Support early production builds and pilot runs
  • Act as a reliability point-of-contact during production ramp-up
  • Define and execute IQC processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 0-1 years of experience

in reliability testing, validation, or hardware quality
- Hands-on experience with: System-level testing, Accelerated stress testing, Failure analysis and RCA
- Strong understanding of Electromechanical systems, Electronics hardware, Basic firmware interactions (logs, behavior, fault states)
- Experience working with vendors and manufacturing partners

Good to Have

  • Experience with consumer electronics, IoT devices, or electromechanical products
  • Exposure to life-cycle testing or field failure analysis
  • Comfortable working in early-stage startups with high ownership
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
