Voice Connectivity Engineer

As a Connectivity Voice Engineer, you will work with a group of voice devops engineers in maintaining, improving and developing Vonage voice networks that carry millions of calls every day and provide real-time services to thousands of users across the globe. Your key responsibilities:- Detailed knowledge of VoIP and related protocols such as SIP, RTP, SDP and good TCP/IP understanding
- Good experience with VoIP troubleshooting with tools like Wireshark, TCP dump, SIPP & VOIP monitor
- Knowledge of open source and commercial VoIP software (we use Kamailio/OpenSIP)
- Good knowledge of Linux administration and operating systems such as CentOS & Debian
- Knowledge and interest in AWS, Grafana, Jenkins, GIT & Jira
- Infrastructure as a code is not foreign to you (we use Chef, Terraform and automation via API)
- Knowledge of Python
- The work timings for this role are EMEA hours (2:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST). There are no shift allowances, as most of the organisation operates in UK hours.
- Work closely with a team of Connectivity Engineers within a fast-paced, modern, agile devops environment.
- Understand and apply state-of-the-art technologies and processes.
- Understand project requirements, performance expectations and success criteria.
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders within Vonage, and understand project and organizational interdependencies.
- Follow established processes and methodologies for design, development, testing and deployment to deliver projects on time with very high quality.
- Work on effective maintenance and monitoring of communications equipment, devices, systems and networks – in terms of functionality, reliability, resiliency, performance and security.
- Investigate, isolate and repair identified issues quickly and accurately.
- Document processes and procedures to support design, development and operations of systems managed by the team.
- Contribute with recommendations for continuous improvement.
