Team & Role Overview:

Provider Strategy Group (PSG)   is responsible for using BlackRock's scale, industry knowledge, and risk management capabilities to build and expand relationships with leading financial institutions appointed as fund administrators, transfer agents and custodians for our funds, achieving the delivery of high-quality service to BlackRock on behalf of our firm's clients at a cost effective and risk aware price point.  To achieve each of these goals, PSG develops and implements a forward looking provider strategy designed to increase operational efficiency, provide risk and cost transparency, and provide flexibility as our business evolves. To balance our relationships, PSG executes a global provider strategy on spend and risk that combines quantitative and qualitative components of relationship and risk management, encompasses a consistent engagement program between BlackRock and our providers, mitigates third party, sourcing and operational risks, and sets parameters for the selection of new partners for BlackRock's funds.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Provider Strategy Group (PSG) team as a Data Office Associate. The successful candidate will be assisting the development of a new function within PSG to manage, analyse and improve data related to our provider relationships, ensuring data integrity, and supporting various PSG initiatives.  The role requires an individual with a track record in data analysis & interpretation from multiple data sources to both create clear and concise communication and to identify themes across providers/services.    The envisioned role will require the management of our data, while giving the ideal candidate the ability to help define the vision of what insights are available from the data available and automation available to our PSG team.

Data Team Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Maintain and update data related to provider relationships, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making and improve provider performance.

  • Project Management: Understanding and co-ordinating the delivery of identified automation and improved reporting opportunities within PSG.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance data management and reporting efficiency.

  • Reporting: Prepare regular & ad hoc reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with our team and other organizations within BlackRock, including operational oversight and Technology Development Office (TDO), to ensure data consistency and support PSG initiatives.

  • Champion and Drive Insightful & Impactful understanding of data analysis and automation within our team.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role, experience in the financial services industry is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL).

  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets and creatively source insights.

  • Familiarity with automation and artificial intelligence.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Bachelor's degree
