About The Role

We're looking for a Quant Engineer with experience building trading systems and a strong understanding of market structure. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining market making strategies, shaping protocol design, and working closely with sophisticated traders.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and maintain market making strategies on Kuru

  • Contribute to protocol features and architecture decisions, based on usage and feedback

  • Work with sophisticated traders to understand their needs and improve the trading experience

  • Analyze performance and continuously optimize systems for capital efficiency and risk

What we're looking for

  1. 2+ years of experience in quant trading or system design for trading

  2. Experience building and deploying trading systems in production

  3. Proficiency with trading infrastructure, including OMS/EMS platforms

  4. Strong analytical and quantitative background with solid programming skills

  5. Deep understanding of financial markets (preferably crypto markets)

  6. Strong understanding of async I/O, concurrency, and synchronization primitives

  7. Hands-on experience with common networking protocols (HTTP, WebSockets, UDP) and their tradeoffs with respect to latency and reliability

  8. Fundamental understanding of market making and taking strategies

  9. Understanding of central limit order books (CLOBs) and market microstructure

  10. Experience setting up ETL pipelines for analysis

Nice to have

  • Crypto native – active user of on-chain trading or DeFi apps

  • Experience with crypto assets

  • Familiarity with on-chain data and smart contract interaction

  • Interest in protocol design, simulations, and mechanism design

  • Experience in EVM, SVM or Cosmos development

  • Understanding of the Ethereum JSON RPC API and the most optimal ways to extract onchain data in real-time

  • Understanding of core DeFi primitives such as AMMs, perp DEXes, lending protocols, oracles

We prefer working in-person (Bengaluru, IN), as we believe it creates a more collaborative and fun atmosphere, which is crucial for a small team like ours.
