As an Associate Design Engineer for EMD and DST machines detailing team, you will have the opportunity to create, implement and improve engineering designs, processes, techniques, and machinery to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality. You will learn and contribute towards modelling and detailing projects. In this engineering position, you will build your technical expertise while learning product development through practical application and staying abreast of innovative technology. You will also build your professional network, engage with peers, and receive guidance from Design Engineers.

• Understanding requirements from Design Engineers on the drawings
• Supports on input validation/input preparation
• Support on comparison across machines for BIQ implementation, add value to the drawings in terms of manufacturability and assembly issues in detailing projects
• Support on effective query handling, prioritize his own tasks for quality and on-time deliverables
• Tool analysis, reverse engineering for tool developments, assurance of tools discontinued by existing suppliers, data mining work for new tools selection
• Creating new designs, models, drawings (Sheetmetal, Arrangement, Casting drawings) ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness
• Participating in the adoption of new technologies, processes, services, and systems to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement
• Collaborating with all internal and external engineering partners to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

Degree required in Mechanical Engineering curriculum
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in machines, Creo & Team Center
Good understanding of engineering print reading, GD&T, and welding
Prior experience on Caterpillar systems like HVC, EDS, Teamcenter, Vis-Mock-up, SDP Fluid lines are preferred

Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels, and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
Level Basic Understanding:

• Identifies information capture needs in own area
• Describes key benefits, drawbacks, and rationale for documenting relevant information
• Provides examples of the risks associated with failing to record relevant information
• Explains organizational methods for documenting, identifying and recording information

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

• Names specific tools or techniques that can be used to support the analytical thinking process
