Role & responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment within our building materials manufacturing facility. The role will focus on ensuring high equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Ensure optimum functioning of plant equipment such as conveyors, crushers, mixers, kilns, compressors, pumps, and other production machinery.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory, raise requirements, and coordinate with the purchase/store team to ensure availability.
  • Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and analyze equipment performance to suggest improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements during all maintenance activities.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and plant upgrades.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and quality teams to reduce downtime and improve productivity

Preferred candidate profile

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in building materials, cement, ceramics, or related manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance systems, breakdown management, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools, SAP/ERP systems, and safety standards.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
