Job Title: Accounts Payable AP Centralization Project

Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: Mumbai Corporate Office

Reports To: VP FC&A / Finance Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable professional to support the centralization of AP operations across multiple business units/locations. The role involves day-to-day AP processing, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and active participation in transitioning decentralized AP processes into a centralized, standardized model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Operations:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and intercompany transactions.

  • Ensure process of invoice validation, and exception handling.

  • Ensure adherence to payment schedules and resolve payment holds/discrepancies.

  • Centralization Project Support:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to map existing decentralized AP processes.

  • Support documentation of as-is" and "to-be" workflows.
  • Assist in developing standardized SOPs and checklists for the centralized AP function.

  • Participate in UAT/testing and go-live phases of new centralized systems or ERPs.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely resolution of issues.

  • Act as a point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders during the transition period.

  • Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and statutory requirements.

  • Maintain proper documentation for audits (internal/external/statutory).

  • Reporting & MIS:

  • Prepare various reports as per Business requirements.

  • Monitor KPIs related to AP such as TAT, accuracy rate, and duplicate payments.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Inter CA, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 12–15 years of experience in AP, preferably with exposure to multi-location/AP centralization projects.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle etc.) is a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and AP automation tools.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end AP process.
  • Analytical thinking and process improvement mind-set.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced transition environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.

Preferred:

  • Experience in shared services or finance transformation projects of listed entity.
  • Exposure to project management tools.
