What You Will Do
Your goal is to drive a Trimble-wide program to improve the productivity of developer teams. You will champion the cause of engineering excellence and help business units achieve that goal through measurements and engagements with the leaders of various business units.
- Define and drive the program for measuring and improving productivity across the organization, aligning with the engineering strategies and business goals.
- Develop and implement standardized frameworks, methodologies to collect, analyze and report on the key metrics.
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to effectively communicate key productivity insights to engineering teams and leadership.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of developer productivity data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for potential improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders, development teams, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure program alignment.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication across various engineering teams and departments to drive adoption of productivity initiatives.
- Develop and maintain data quality standards and processes to ensure the reliability and accuracy of productivity data.
- Work with the backend team to troubleshoot technical issues related to data collection, processing, APIs, integrations and reporting pipelines.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related role, such as program management, engineering management, DevOps, or analytics, with increasing responsibility.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex programs with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in leading and delivering cross-functional programs involving technical teams.
- Experience working with software development / DevOps teams, understanding their workflows and implementing process improvements.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting, including the use of relevant tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Understanding of software development metrics and their significance.
- Familiarity with productivity frameworks such as DORA, SPACE etc.
- Experience with any developer productivity tools and platforms is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages, APIs, data querying tools is a plus.
