About the role

As the Head of Pet Care Food Plant, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the pet care food manufacturing facility. You will ensure efficient production processes, maintain high-quality standards, manage staff and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily plant operations with a focus on productivity, safety and efficiency
• Lead production planning to align with marketing and sales requirements
• Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Implement initiatives to manage production costs, material yields and utility consumption
• Oversee the maintenance and spares management for both process and utility equipment
• Drive improvements in process efficiency, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and capacity utilisation
• Maintain positive industrial relations through proactive engagement and conflict resolution
• Ensure statutory compliance for plant operations, coordinating with HR and legal teams
• Foster a culture of safety across the plant, ensuring the safety of people, products and machinery
• Coordinate with HR on manpower planning, recruitment and training to meet staffing needs
• Optimise inventory levels of raw materials, packaging and spares
• Maintain relationships and coordinate with statutory and local bodies for plant operations
• Supervise new machinery installation and coordinate the disposal of scrap and obsolete equipment
• Work closely with R&D, QA, SCM and marketing to support innovation and timely delivery of products

Who are we looking for?

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Engineering Mechanical/Electrical
• Master's degree preferred

Experience:

• 12 years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain, with 6-8 years in Food Processing or Aqua Feed Manufacturing
• At least 4 years in Pet Food at a Senior Position preferred

Skills:

• Strong understanding of pet nutrition, ingredient functionality and food safety regulations
• Proficient in statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
