Job Description
Working within our Editorial Operations department, you will oversee editorial administrative workflows across multiple academic disciplines, developing expertise in manuscript coordination and journal management. This role offers significant professional development opportunities within the dynamic academic publishing sector.
Key Responsibilities
Research Excellence & Technical Operations
- Sustain oversight of all submissions for editorial quality and ethical compliance, managing specialised and complex queries.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Editorial & Ethical policies, serving as a subject matter expert for policy interpretation across our journal portfolio.
- Support critical manuscript decision-making processes (reject/revision/accept), particularly for ethically complex submissions, open data policy compliance, or those requiring specialized assessment.
- Implement and monitor process improvements to accelerate manuscript flow and meet growth targets.
- Monitor service delivery metrics for accuracy and turnaround time performance and identify process optimization opportunities whilst providing clear feedback to supplier management.
- Manage end to end workflows ensuring timely, high-quality article publication with seamless coordination between adjoining teams (publishing, production, product & tech).
- Train and develop Desk Editors & other administrative front line (internal & external) team members whilst strictly maintaining publishing standards & adhering to T&F Editorial Policy.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as escalation point for publishing teams, partners and authors, resolving complex queries.
- Cultivate professional relationships with global academic communities.
- Provide expert guidance to authors, editors, and reviewers worldwide.
- Collaborate with international partners to maintain service excellence (external commercial partners, supplier management, production, product, editorial & systems support).
- Coordinate effectively with Editorial & Publishing teams within Researcher Services.
Qualifications
Education & Language
- Degree in STEM or Humanities/Social Sciences field (
 Postgraduates/PhDs preferred).
- Editorial publishing experience with understanding of Open Access journal workflows.
- Strong data analysis skills using Excel, with ability to create compelling visual reports.
- Project management capabilities with interest in process improvement methodologies.

Additional Information

When you're not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.
The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our
Delhi
office to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is
an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time
