The Engineering and the Global Services functions at Viasat are responsible for designing, building and maintaining a robust and flexible global satellite and ground network that incorporates Viasat and partner assets to deliver internet services to customers worldwide.

We're seeking highly motivated software engineers to join our Engineering and Global Services teams, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Viasat's robust and flexible global satellite network.

• We are looking for motivated software engineers experienced in or interested in programming disciplines.
• As a Software Engineer Intern, you will develop software, automation and analytics tools for platforms that run our satellite ground networks, delivering services to our residential and mobility customers.
• Our ideal candidate will bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the team, should be excited about the challenges that come with working within a large globally distributed system.
• You will work with ground systems project teams, getting hands-on experience solving problems, building, operating and validating software components for Viasat.
• You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Coding proficiency in Python, Golang, Java, C/C++, Clojure, or similar languages
• Coursework or experience related to software/Web applications and Data solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to think out of the box, taking up initiatives and problem solving.
• We are looking for candidates who are willing to undertake their final year internship at the Viasat Office between January and June. The internship duration will be a minimum of 2 months and can extend up to 3 months, depending on the specific project requirements.
• This internship offers a pathway to full-time employment. Successful completion of the internship, including meeting all project deadlines and requirements, is necessary for consideration for a full-time position.

• Experience with Cloud software development (AWS, GCP), Operating systems (Linux, Windows, Embedded), distributed systems, Data engineering & ML project work, and full-stack software development.
